Hey diddle diddle Fat cats on the fiddle Cash cow’s so over the moon The silver fox stole from everyone And then skipped town so soon Monochrome men breaking all the rules, tell the rest of us what and when to do Monochrome men we’ve got you on the run, put some colour in your lives And have some fucking fun We’re not monochrome More like Kodachrome Do you want to live this life in only black and white? Some people out there think this is how it ought to be I tell you it won’t be like ebony and ivory Do you want to live this life in only black and white? Let colour blow your mind

I’ve got a box of 24, I need more. I’ve got a box of 24, I need more. I’ve got a million things spinning on my mind, can I press rewind, have unlimited time? Just to do half the things I like in life, with my lovely wife, opening bubbly wine. But no, this is just the way that they say life goes, work six to eight, barely ate, don’t hope. Forget about change or promotion or growth, you’ll be doing dishes till you’re grey and old. But hold up, confused frown, I have dreams of making something of this town. This a damn disgrace by this head in the clouds, need to educate him on just how it goes down. There’s a reason that they have a system in place. It’s to keep the rats running in the rat race. And the rats are us, the politics, the snakes pretending that they give a damn on live debates. Yes, ok, I get that, but I’m on a different kind of track. I have a ‘things to do’ list that I must attack. I will not be the party sitting down feeling sad, picturing life, like I had what I never had, like it’s all bliss, and nothing’s ever bad. Just need an hourglass with everlasting sand. A box of time that’s all I would only ever ask. To finish all my plans, I need it really bad, I need it really bad. Ain’t no time to play, but what can I say? Feel like I’m chasing my mind, I’m losing every day, can’t stop coz time ain’t my friend. Can I get a break from work? No this ain’t gonna ever end. Coz I’m out of control, me rush to work, another typical day at work, you call it parole, coz this shit’s a crime, Can this be legal, sell your soul for the sake of making a dime? Coz I know where I’d rather be, I’m hanging with my lady, my boys in the sunshine, yeah, that’s a fantasy. I’m surrounded by media info overload, earplugs in your ears, cross the road now you’re a road toll. All I hear or see is so PC, surely there’s gotta be better ways to spend my time more freely. Feels like no one understands me, but I’m gonna scream at the top of my lungs in the streets until you damn hear me. I need a box of time, I’m out of control and yet I’m still stuck in the same hole. My life’s a mess, give me a box of time to deal with the stress.

They think you’re crazy Saw you hanging with me and havin’ fun They’ll say don’t trust me Outsiders like me tend to freak and run They’ll never know The feelings I keep so deep in my soul And things untold Hold on to me tight and I’ll let it all out Don’t try to change me I tell you right now, it will all go wrong Don’t let me unnerve you Outsiders like me can fall in love You can ask I don’t mind And all will be fine, just never tell End this curse of mine You can ask I don’t mind And all will be fine, just never tell They’ll never know The feelings I keep so deep in my soul And things untold Hold on to me tight and I’ll let it all out

Public henchman, paunch and pension Five foot four, craves attention A new buzzword, an ego invention No sense of right, he’s beyond redemption Turbo machismo, no sense of humour Acts tough, disguise the rumour Inside he cries, despite the armour Small comfort from Mrs Palmer Big black pick up, and woolly socks Nobody cares ‘bout the wheels you’ve got Passive aggression will make you rot Can you fix my roof? I think not Politician, deep suspicion Hell bent, immune to derision He needs a mission, a world collision That fucker ought to be in prison Five foot four, craves attention A new buzzword, an ego invention No sense of right, he’s beyond redemption Turbo machismo, no sense of humour Acts tough, disguise the rumour Inside he cries, despite the armour Small comfort from Mrs Palmer Big black pick up, and woolly socks Nobody cares ‘bout the wheels you’ve got Passive aggression will make you rot Can you fix my roof? I think not Politician, deep suspicion Hell bent, immune to derision He needs a mission, a world collision That fucker ought to be in prison Are you blind, to that kind? Don’t bury your head, be first in line Open your heart, your head, your mind Peace and love you’ll find Fuck the vanity, the insanity Bring clarity, some charity It’s not all tragic, there is a magic The love adventure don’t fucking censor It’s not all tragic, there is a magic The love adventure don’t fucking censor Most men are good, it’s not about wood Hit the re-set, be understood It’s not all tragic there is a magic The love adventure don’t fucking censor Most men are good, it’s not about wood Be the man you know you should

My friend my lifelong friend I just hope you can hear me I was with you there today They all walked away Left you with the cold cold earth My friend You’re not the only one crying He watched over him As I do every single day Keeping you from harm He was my love my only love And my salvation We had adventures with you Kept you from all danger My love oh my love I will so miss you My friend You’re not the only one crying You’re not the only one He watched over him As I do every single day Keeping you from harm My friend I hope you can hear me If only you could see I’m around your heart and soul Can you feel me? I’ll keep watching over you As I do every single day Keeping you from harm

Self-destruction, terror, mankind gone forever, believe me check the weather, we’re killing ourselves even though we’re so clever. Big vicious storm that’s coming right for us, we sent out warnings but y’all ignored us. It ain’t mother nature it’s men on a warpath, global dictators with ego’s so enormous. Corruption king’s taking over to destroy us, the messages poisonous, so block out the noise. Women and children lock the doors and the men buy food for storage because dark days are before us, join us. No more rights and freedom, more people in need, and more women are beaten, while their children are pleading. Stop, there’s too many places in the world where kids aren’t eating, are you seeing what I’m seeing? Like, do you see this a world of such high techs that we can’t cure diseases? Something isn’t right, still too many non-believers, ignoring the evil that’s trying to plant seeds in us, so all we see is this and not the truth. Freedom fighters take action, what will you do? I’m hypersensitive they either can’t under or stand me. A human reactor ready to explode a bad virus so you damn me. A free radical rejected by society, I may be different but that’s just life’s spice is variety. Your black shoes and your suits and your lattes too, your iphones your cell phones you’re so Gucci cool. Walking around like you’re all made up, but in the real world you’re blinded so please wake up. A society created to consume, don’t be confused keyboard tappers, keep on tapping your fingers in costume. Are you really free to think and speak your mind, or you worried about rejection from your peers and your own kind? I’m not hating or quick to judge, only that I see dressed up sheep enslaved I know this much. A free thinkers’ right to his expression, bringing to light the reasons for your own depression. Doctor said, it’s ok, you’ll be alright, here take a pill morning, day and night. Coz I’m not asking you to believe in what I say, it’s merely what I see in my society today. I’m a Free Radicool, be cool, Free Radicool.

about

Outsider’ is the second studio album by Wellington recording artist, Manzo.

Very topical themes of corporate greed, politics, masculinity and social pressure, are woven with tales of loss and love. The album talks about the frustrations and flaws of our modern world to anybody that understands how it feels to be perceived as different - a salute to the outsider. But ultimately it's an uplifting album full of humour and hope.

Infusing pop, rock, electronic, classical, hip hop and dance, along with some blatant ‘80s and ‘90s vibes, the music reflects Manzo’s broad musical influences, and also his refusal to be pigeon holed and constrained by genre. Classical arrangements flow into grungy electric guitar, synthesised beats support cello and brass. Guest vocalists bring a range of styles, from soul to soprano, from raw rap to raunchy rock chick. It’s a celebration of how different styles can be brought together in harmony.
